TEMPERAMENTAL SPIRIT

COUNT TO TEN

"I will not take rubbish from anybody", "this is who i am, take it or leave it". Does these words sound familiar? I am one of those people too, i get upset and can bring down the roof just to satisfy my angered spirit. As i grew older (i'm not that old tho), i have come to realize that there are some things that is worth simply ignoring than reacting to. Jesus said that if your neighbor slapped you, turn the other cheek, many interpretation has been given to this simple illustration but just as well, turning the other cheek could be waking away from that scene just to cool off and let go some of the heat of that moment. I learned in time, still learning to count to ten in times of anger, it's better careful than feeling terrible. The count to ten rule is just a way to give excuses for the other person's action or their reaction and not reacting the same way they have reacted.
What would Jesus do in a situation like this, how would He react? Yes, we are not Jesus but we are Christ-like in nature, we are all human and can only react to how we have been treated but then where the Holy spirit comes is our ability to actually think back, count to ten and act more matured. There is an adage that says "two wrong don't make a right", so while the other party is not getting it right at that point, can we be the more matured one and count to ten, take a walk, let go of the steam and be in a position of envy. Certain things are just not worth wasting our energy on, remember that when you are angered.
Have a blessed week!!!

An enthusiastically emotional realist. I believe that life is not all about YES or NO but a few Mybes and In-decisions but your ability to figure it out makes you stand out. A lover of God and His ways and I believe that a Hopeless romantic is not bad because we view life in a romantic angle.
