Good morning my wonderful people; so today, there will be a little digression, i would like to talk about something so beautiful and sweet, in fact, it is the main essence of our creation. LOVE. Love is the most shared relationship that have existed in man's history and has not faded; have you ever though about how things come and go in life, but because of the importance of love in our being, it has not faded, and it is as strong as it was over 2000 years ago.
There are different kind of love; we have the AGAPE love which is the unconditional love of God that sees beyond the flaws of an individual, we have the EROS which is the passionate and intense love that arouses romantic feelings between lovers , PHILEO which is the friendship love that makes you want to be friends with someone and then we have the STORGE which is the love shared with families, a general love that parents have for their kids and vice versa. With all these types of love, the most beautiful is of them all is the AGAPE love.
Now, how can we claim to know GOD and not know LOVE, it is impossible because God Himself is love and to be able to love the right way, you have to definitely love the God's way; which means a selfless love that wants nothing back in return. In every stage of our lives, we all crave for love, we want to love and also be loved, whether as a kid who wants the parents love (storge), or as an adolescent that wants to be loved by friends (phileo), a grown up seeking to be loved by their partner (eros) or an individual seeking the love or acceptance of all (agape); we all require love at every time in our lives. Truth is from the time that we were conceived in our mother's womb to the time we go back to the creator of the universe, we need love to survive, think about this, for everyone that lacked love in any area of their lives, whether growing up or other aspect, it affects their output to life and all of that, so LOVE is a very important aspect of the basic human existence.
But like i said earlier, if you do not love the God's way, you cannot love the right way. As a young girl growing up, i was very social and lovable, i would make friends with everybody and as a result, the family would also become friends, i saw no harm whatsoever in beings friends or loving you because in my mind, LOVE made the world go round, but at that point, i didn't understand that there is a way that seem right unto man but the end thereof is destruction, i loved a lot, but most of the time i loved the wrong way and therefore, got burned (story for another day, lol). I grew up without the knowledge of loving the right way, at that time, i was of the school of thought that love and you would be loved right back (wrong move, selfish love), i loved because i am expecting something in return and not because i wanted to.
The very day i experienced real love was the day i saw this movie, the passion of the Christ that showed the last few hours of Christ on earth, i was shaken to the bones, i wailed for life and for love because that showed me the height of love that i have never seen or heard of before, i mean, how can you be in love with someone that continuously crucifies you, and to top it all, He prayed for us. What i realized there and then was that my reason for loving someone is not because they have the ability to love me back but because i love God and God is love, so i have to love. Don't get me wrong, i am not saying that experience made it easy to love people even though they do not love me in return, matter of fact, sometimes, i feel like, you know what, I AM DONE!!! but what it did was that it gave me an excuse that regardless of how much i am hurt and i feel like hurting right back, I CAN'T, not because i don't want to but because if Christ can continue to advocate for me despite my continuous crucifying him each time i sin, then i am capable of loving even though i do not get it back.
The very essence of our existence is LOVE but remember that it is very important to love the God's way.
