KEEP STRIVING FOR GOLD

Don't Give Up
Good morning friends, patience is a virtue is a popular saying and many times, be patient is the last thing that is in the mind of anybody especially in this jet age days where everyone wants something and they want it right now; people believe that everything is microwaveable, ready in three minutes; but truth is not everything comes to us when we want them or even when we work for them but the beauty about it is it will come to us when eventually as long as we keep striving for result. Many times in our lives we have given up on a desired goal and just throw in the towel, forgotten the fact that to get to the point that we are now, there were sacrifices made, and more will be required to get beyond that point. What will guarantee the desired result is our patience and ability to remain steadfast in reaching for that goal we are pursuing.

A close look at the picture above is a typical example of what happens to humans, the irony of life; the man about to reach his goals has given up and is walking away but the one with a longer way to go is working hard enough to reach the gold but what is to say that he will not also give up at almost the end of the road. Now, questions that would rise from the scene above are numerous: why would he give up at the end? why can't he just try one more strike? and so on and so forth but the truth is the reason behind any action of anybody is known only to them. I want to say to us today that as much effort as we have put into something to get a result, it will be unfair to your time, energy, and possible money that have been spent to go to waste; why, because the time wasted in striking the rock could have been used for something else so why waste it on the rock.

There are many reasons why people would give up in life; they are probably tired of trying, they are being discouraged by family and friends, they are not certain of the result, and the most important they do not have courage in themselves, i put it to you today that all of these reasons are not worth giving up your dreams and aspirations for; the opinion of others only matter if it is from a sincere heart and if it is constructive. Don't misunderstand my point here, i am definitely not saying that others opinion do not count, i am saying that you have the capability to actually filter what people are saying to you, pick and choose what you will hold on to because for all you know, that opinion might be borne out of envy.

But in essence, do NOT make the mistake of letting the devil deceive you into believing that you can reach the end or make it through because just like the picture above, you might be closer than you expect and maybe all that is required is just one strike, so why don't you make that move towards success today, stop snoozing the early morning alarm and keep striking for the gold until you eventually reach it. Remember, God's purpose for your life is not to be a failure but a success; you are a royal priesthood, a peculiar people...keep striking for the gold...

An enthusiastically emotional realist. I believe that life is not all about YES or NO but a few Mybes and In-decisions but your ability to figure it out makes you stand out. A lover of God and His ways and I believe that a Hopeless romantic is not bad because we view life in a romantic angle.

    Great piece, Very encouraging. Reminds me of a nursery rhyme that goes like this, Good better best, may I never rest, until my good is better and my better best!

    Thank you Sally...yes i remember that rhyme too...maybe we all have to be kids again to be able to understand that persistence matters a lot in life

    Microwaveable sucesss in most cases we as human beings seek to achieve. The issue is that we want others to see a reflection that is not reflective of one's nature. With time, we are unable to keep up with the cloudy earthly deception and yes Give up because we can't meet up with the demands. When we walk in the path that the eternal being destine for us, empowerment, encouragement and the motivation to press forward kick us back to reaching that success. Never give up.

    Great job. Totally agree. I believe sometimes family members expects quick results e.g In the case of marriage: When are you going to get married, when are you going to give us our grand child or children. Patient is everything in this life. Not saying it's wrong to have these but it takes patient, time. Also peer pressure can also affect the way one views situations. Patient is a virtue. Also, sometimes when one has given all their all and nothing is coming forth, it tends to discourage one to ever believe that it will come through. Also, this can lead to comparing oneself to another, never knowing what they have gone through, I also believe that the society that we live in now expects instant gratification. Without that one is labeled a failure. But the good news is that no one on this earth except from GOD can determine our future. If GOD is for us, who can be against us. Our future is so bright.
