"If you were not born with a silver spoon, work hard and buy one for yourself" (Dr. Amos Fenwa) The first day i heard this statement from our General Overseer, i was beyond shock, i was perplexed, not that the statement didn't sound real it is just that no one would think of the possibility of that. Another statement from him that stuck with me is "Never allow your background to keep your back on the ground" (Dr. Amos Fenwa) These statements are real to many of us these days and the sad thing is we do NOT apply it to our lives. It is true that many of us were not born into the typically rich and wealthy family ' born without a silver spoon' but nothing has the ability to determine our outcome in life but us. No matter what your background was or you upbringing could have been, you have your future to basically fashion it in the way that you want your future to turn out.
There is this story of three siblings that came from a not very rich family, the perfect example of 'born without a silver spoon'. On both sides of their family, there was no push, matter of fact no one ever thought of chasing after a better life or working towards a bachelors degree, people will pretty comfortable with the mediocre success that was being shared but these three siblings determined that even though they were a product of that situation, it does not define who they are or what they can be in life. With the help of God, one of these siblings have concluded his bachelors, he is currently about to get his second degree, so has the second, and the third one is doing very well for himself for his age. What i am saying in essence is that you can determine where you are born into but you can definitely define what your life would be about.
The cure to 'no silver spoon' is actually being able to provide a better future for yourself and those that are after you, therefore you need to be determined to actually. So why don't you get up, dust yourself and be that person you desire to be, create a life for yourself that your foundation could not give you and in the process of buying yourself that silver spoon, make sure you buy enough for the generation after you. Truth is there are many people out there that were born with silver spoon but could not maintain it properly hence they lose their spoons.

I have come this afternoon to tell you that your background or pedigree does not define who you are, it is just a passage way for you to get to the world, it is not your destination. Remember, the past is an experience that cannot be changed, the present is a gift and you cannot live it complaining because it will only complicate matters but the future is yet to come and with the help of God, you can control what your future will look like. So why don't you get to work so you can have enough money to buy the silver spoon you so desire and make your future bright for your children's present because that is the best gift you can give them.
