PARABLE OF THE TALENT

HE'S A WISE GOD

Today I remember the story of the talents in the book of Matthew chapter 25:14-30; of a man who was to travel and he called his servants and gave them different talents to work it. To one he gave 5 talents, to another 2 and to yet another he gave 1. The man that got five talents invested the talents invested his talent in good trades and made back a hundred folds for his master likewise the man that got 2 talents invested his and made a hundred fold interest. But the man that got 1 talent went and dug a hole to put the talent in for the arrival of the master. Eventually, the master returns from his journey and asked for the yields of his talents, the man with the 5 talents gladly presented the master with his hundred folds increase and so did the man with the 2 talents. It came the turn of the man with 1 talent, but instead of him to apologize for not using the talent well or just return the talent back to the master, he insulted the master of being wicked and stingy.
Vs 24-25 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours"

Image result for parable of the talentsHow many of us are like the man in this chapter that constantly blames God for not giving us as much as we desire or as much as the next person? How many of us are using the talents and gifts that God has bestowed upon us the right way and yielding good increase with those talents? I know a lot of people might start to think what talent I am referring to; but God has embedded in each and every one of us a gift that is meant to bring solution and healing to the world, so the question is how are you using this? It could be your smile, it could the way you encourage the next person, your talent or gift might not be as huge and noticeable as the person beside, it might be as great and glorious in your eyes as your siblings or your friend, but to God, the gift is equally as important. And your ability to fashion this right is what will qualify you as a good and worthy servant.

God knows what he is doing and He knows exactly what you need to be at your utmost best anytime, so why don't you search within for those hidden talents, dig them out and put them to use. Don't be like that servant that blamed his master for not investing the talents wisely, spread wisely in the beauty of your father and watch Him turn your small talent into a life changing gift. Learn a lesson from this story and determine to be different, no matter what it is that God has given to you, ask Him for grace to use it in a way that would glorify Him and Him alone so that you will not be a cast away.
"Nothing is too small that comes from God, let Him work with you and through you in the journey of life, and you will never be stranded" (Adeola Oladele)

An enthusiastically emotional realist. I believe that life is not all about YES or NO but a few Mybes and In-decisions but your ability to figure it out makes you stand out. A lover of God and His ways and I believe that a Hopeless romantic is not bad because we view life in a romantic angle.
