CHURCHED OUT?

FIND THE SPARK

Many times we become tired of how situations are around us and then it starts to draw us to a false fact that we need other ways to walk through life and make things happen. We imagine how life will be if we do it a little different and add a little more spice to how things are currently in our lives so we end up walking away from somethings that we think might have been the only source of our holding on. The term "churched out" means that yo have gone to church way too much and don't feel like being in church in a while but is that really how it is meant to be? Are supposed to get to the point where we feel churched out and uninterested in the things of God? Are we allowed to neglect the gathering of the brethren and act like we don't care what is going on there even though God commanded us against that?

I know that a couple of people will be expecting me to say that it is a sin to be churched out and not want to be bothered but in contrary, it is NOT a sin to not want to go to church; it is a sin to go against the will of God for our lives. A few break down below: Firstly, it is very possible to be "churched out" if we have not paid attention to some details as to what you are looking for in church or why you want to go to church in the first place. Now, many people lose focus of the main purpose of gathering with the brethren or fellowship with the saints that they now see church as a social gathering; a place for meet and greet, a place to make friends and find a life partner. People have turned the purpose of God for the church into something totally different. Secondly, you will be "churched out" if you lose focus of the will of God for your life...yes the church is where the saints gather but do they gather for manly sake or for purpose of enlarging the kingdom of God? If we have not answered these questions right, then churched out might be a part of our vocabulary.

Do NOT let the devil deceive you into believing that finding another place of worship will make things better or make you churched in; because truth is it won't instead, it will only make you feel a need not to totally commit to that church for the purpose of not being involved as before. The only thing that can fix the emptiness of being churched out is to go back to the drawing board and find your spark. What is the purpose of you being a christian? Why do you go to church in the first place? To meet friends or to meet with God? What is your assignment in the body of Christ and most importantly who are you in the body of Christ. Now, without answering all of these questions right, there will be the churched out tendencies but you need to do the work and find again the spark that made you on fire for Christ. Truth is, the devil is very cunny and he knows that the best way to deal with you is to lead you off course and away from the covering of God so don't be deceived.

Heb. 10:25; not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
