USE YOUR GIFT



BE A BLESSING
From the beginning of this month, we started a series on GIFT, finding your gift, unwrapping your gift; the next topic on this series is USING YOUR GIFT. Amazing how a lot of us have different talents deposited inside us that is just wasting away, and not being put into the proper use for the purpose of which it was created, so today, I am going to speak on Using Your Gift to be a blessing to the next person. You need to read these two topics to have a full understanding of the importance of Using Your Gift to bless lives. 

 So what does it mean to 'Use Your Gift?' God has embedded some gifts in each of us, and the first step is actually finding that particular gift given to you, after you have seen the content of that gift by unwrapping it, the next step expected of you therefore is to use that gift, not just for your own good but also for the goodness of the next person. But how can you bless your neighbor if you do not understand the concept of your gift, in essence, the first step to using your gift in its full capacity is to understand the concept of your gift. 

Understanding the concept of your gift means that you are not comparing yourself with other people; remember that the bible say those that compare themselves with themselves are foolish 2 Cor. 10:12. You know that what God has given you might be similar to that person sitting next to you but it is totally different. Take for example, two friends that are very good orators, they can move the crowd just by opening their mouth. Interesting right!!! Friend A realized there is a calling of God upon his life so he decides to be a pastor, so friend B decides to be a pastor too because he realized that he has the same gift as his friend and then he misses it. IF you do NOT understand the concept of your gift, you will miss it and do what you were not called. What I am saying in essence is that Friend A might have been called as a pastor while Friend B is supposed to use his oratory gift as a teacher and both of them will be fulfilling purpose in their respective fields. So the first step is understanding the concept of your gift. After understand, the next step is to seek God.
Ask for grace from the giver of all gifts, God, ask Him for directions and the right steps to take towards Using the Gifts He has given to you to be a blessing to His people. Truth is no man can prevail or make it except God gives us the ability to do so. Every good thing comes from the Lord, but to be able to use this good thing, we must pray to Him to help us with it. We know of the experience of Jesus Christ feeding the 5000 multitude; He is God Himself but He had to pray to God to bless the food and then multiply it for the people, so if Jesus Christ who is God himself can pray for help in using His gift, don't we also. Therefore, in other to get the full capacity of your gift, you need the blessing and acknowledgement of God. He will direct you on the steps to take in using your gift to bless the people.

 "Remember, if you do NOT use your gift, if will be taken from you and given to another that can make better use of it. So be wise, hurry up, and make use of that talent embedded in you and watch God move the world for your sake" Adeola Oladele.
